Off To The Shore! :D

Monday, April 23, 2012

Yeah, it has been 2 weeks since I’ve have been to suryalanka with my “douche-bags” and was back. I’m late in reporting every minute detail of the trip as I was busy with some pretty hardcore shit, which technically speaking is known as Project work in graduation’s glossary, Ok enough of this crap, I don’t want to get started on this for even if I was paid to talk about the same.

We started from our homes at about 9PM on 6th April, and were to meet at friends place at 9:30PM and then together head to the railway station to board the train, which was scheduled to arrive at 10:30PM. As punctual as we are, we met at 10PM at friends’ place, which was about 20-25min away from the railway station, with bags packed, shorts worn on and more importantly “no buses and autos to board and reach the railway station!”. Then came a lifesaver or rather the trip saver-an autowalah, who should probably vie for a place in Formula One Grand Prix.

Ghar se hum chale, bas ek backpack!
We reached the station by 10:15PM and the platform by 10:25, and then it was time for the Indian Railways to show their “punctuality” and they did show, the train arrived at 11:30PM yay! Meanwhile we shot pictures on the very platform, gossiping all the nonsense in the world and then our heads turned to the only “chick” on the platform who in a weird way seemed hot! (As I said I’m here to get you through every minute detail this detail might impel many readers to read further) And Then the time fled-you know how? Isn’t it obvious. :P ;)

The train arrived we occupied our seats, more importantly checking the berth where the chick from the platform sat-thanks to the stars that day, she sat in the compartment right next to ours. Thus started our journey! We then started to click pictures, and more pictures. No, not of that chick!

As verbose are we, we talked non-sense and more non-sense, it’s the only thing that’s acknowledged, understood and respected in the companionship of Bro’s. Getting down at every station the train halted at, “and of course taking pictures” and savoring hot coffee we thoroughly enjoyed. We then reached our destination at 7AM in the morning and turned our heads to get a glimpse of you know whom! ;)
"The Young, Dynamic and 55-60 Years old"
We freshened up, had our breakfast and yeah, The Breakfast, now this is where I might start emphasizing a little more, for we had the best masala dosa and sambar idly in our whole life at a small house-turned-hotel, whose waiter is an young, dynamic, enthusiastic (to feed the customers), 50-55 year old, who might remind everyone of their grandpas! More on him later.

We then hired an auto to suryalanka, a 20min ride from the railway station. Everyone picturing the sea-waters, which we in no time would ride on, we already were high on excitement, and the visual of the beautiful landscape of the sky embracing the sea only added flavor to our excitement. Hell yes! We are here!
We walked down the shore, with the water caressing our feet and kindling the little kids in us, who would take off their clothes and hit the waters. We in no time were in our Bermudas and, not to mention, “Took pictures” and then ran toward the sea, with water splashing at our body and us embracing every droplet of it. We screamed, laughed, played volleyball, dived in against the currents, gulping some of the salty water. We played in the water for what seemed to be an eternity, but to our dismay, we were in the water for a mere 2 hours. I then got back to where we anchored our luggage and then changed. It was time for “photo shoot”, for we had the best swimsuit models- my douche-bags!

Isn't it A Beauty!
Everyone posed to the best of their efforts, clinging high in the air, diving in the water, running against the tides in all myriad ways possible. We then ran out of gas and were tired as hell, everyone changed and we walked back to a hut-turned-store to have copious quantities of water (the regular one). We had our buffet lunch at nearby restaurant-sea facing, with cool breeze caressing our bodies and evading the sultry feeling everyone developed. We then sat in the lawn the restaurant owned and enjoyed the cool breeze, it was only 2 hours since we were splashing waters at each other, now seated on the benches and visualising the very scene of people doing the same from a farther distance impelled the little kid in us and we were in our Bermudas yet again! It was 5PM in the evening and then come the convoy, the entourage of girls! It was time to flaunt our skill too. Yeah, some of us were living the dream watching the girls get wet and sexy. ;)

Some of us hit the waters and the rest decided to stay back and lie down and visualise every nuance their eye could possibly capture. I went down to the shore and started taking pictures of my friends who were posing. Sunset is one such visual that one might not want to miss; the sunset at suryalanka was a beautiful scene to watch-a feast for eyes!

Yeah! And Don't you dare think I'm Fat! :P
It was almost dusk when we were back from suryalanka to Bapatla and checked into a less expensive yet lavish lodge. We freshened and soon were hungry, after dinner we resided to our beds and some of us were welcomed by “bedbugs” no wonder, it was less expensive. We slept hard, woke up late in the morning unwilling to move our asses, even to the bathroom. We had no other option but to go to the beach yet again, we dressed up and headed to the hotel that I mentioned earlier in this article. Now, if you ever happen to go to suryalanka, try the food at this small hotel- Natraj Tiffin and you would be hooked. God I love the dosa there! :D

We reached the shore and it was as if the yesterday has just been imbibed into today. We took pictures (y do I keep mentioning this) and etched our names on the wet part of the shore and watching the water go all over it. We spent the rest of the day in the water but this time savouring the ice cream once in a while to beat the heat. We talked non-sense again, but the only part that made most of the sense was contributed by one of us (angith) for he had all our ears glued to the in detail description of “The Manhood” which is a violation of the Bro code. ;) :D

We suffered sunburns on our backs, we were tanned, but the companionship of friends let it all unfeeling. It was late in the evening that we were back to our hotel room, we bathed, and the cool water drifting through the body, caressing our backs put us out of misery for time being. Then we rested and as good as, we are at it we talked, Hisaab-kitaab kiya, watched Television and then it was time we packed our bags and bid adieu to the long lasting feeling. We had our supper at the very same hotel, this time it was onion dosa and after we were done filling out bellies we took pictures with the man himself-the young, dynamic, and 50-60 years old waiter! :D

We then had a couple of hours before the train was scheduled to arrive, and we slogged off our asses on the platform of the railway station. This time we talked sense, and a high quality premium 91 octane one at that! The time passed swiftly before we could revert to nonsense the train had arrived. We resided to our berths, gossiped a little and then went to sleep.

We woke up in the morning and could breathe the air of Hyderabad. We were happy at the same time wished this trip has never ended, for we had to go back to our routine lives of; Getting up early in the morning and going to college, ambushing faculty to get our records and project works approved, but, we had to face it.

That’s it for now, I might have missed on some things but, those are better off not mentioning. One thing's that is for sure, this trip might be the one that will be reminisced for months to come.

Adios!

You've read Nothing then!

Monday, April 16, 2012

It was one fine Sunday morning my father out of now where posed a question while I was savoring my “hand-made” coffee, Have you read “The godfather”, by Mario Puzo? I was caught off guard, as I was imbued to the daily routine of, Have you decided what to do after B-Tech? Have you gone through the article in today’s newspaper titled “Auto Rickshaw’s Son clears CA”?  :/ :P

No, I said, was I supposed to? My father gave a look as in You suck! He said, with a frown “Then you have read nothing” and he left. I at that time, was really into Sidney Sheldon’s works, and considered every other author as a “far cry from the original”. Out of curiosity I reached the shelf where the novels rested and picked The Godfather, and went through the gist of the story at the back of the book, and was “hooked”.

I went on to read the novel for a consecutive 17 days (couldn’t give more than 3hrs a day :P), one would be awestruck by the way Mario Puzo writes, if it wasn’t for Godfather, he would not have penned a classic masterpiece, which was then made into a movie eventually bagging a record 7 Oscars! And so did the sequel to the movie.

Don Corleone is one of the powerful characters I have ever read about, though a fiction one could feel his presence, so powerful, so ruthless and fearful.

"Known for the power he wields and the fear he instils, people are in awe at his aura and clout-some respect Him (‘H’ this is for a reason), some fear Him, and some oblige for the want of an option"
.
The book so gives you a deep insight into the Mafia world, which has its roots in Sicily, but more explicitly into the art of contemporary writing. Ranging from the mafia in Sicily to the love, gamble and sex in America and most importantly the Don’s influence, which reaches every level of the American Society the book, has everything one could possibly imagine or rather may run out of imagination.

If it were not for my dad I would have never read a novel, “so turbulent, so exciting, and highly entertaining”. More or less the credit goes to my dad himself for buying the book.
Here are few of the quotes that possibly may not be penned for a centuries to come, which could have been written only by Mario Puzo.

  • “He has seen the light of life die in the man’s eye as clearly as the candle goes out”
  • “Fannuci (a character in the novel) never retreats, I will reason with him”
  • “Time erodes gratitude more quickly than it erodes Beauty”
  • “Only the Great Don could steal a stalemate from this terrible defeat and if it were to come his Death”
  • “Every piece of shit, every man eats; every single day in his life is fucking personal”
  • “Revenge is a dish that tastes best, when it’s cold”
  • “Though women certainly will be saints in heaven, we men burn in hell"

As my Dad said, if one who is imbued to reading fiction, if you haven’t read The Godfather then you have read nothing! It might be my Favorite novel of all time, one can speak endlessly about the novel, the protagonist (who is everything in the novel), but then there is no point in explicitly describing the novel as such on a blog.

A "Few" Extra Kilos

Friday, April 13, 2012

Gone are those days when people used to be laddus, with a hanging potbelly and a football-like-faces, unable to fit into auto seats, bikes and not to mention, their shirts and trousers. All the credit goes to the slimming and fitness centers, every lane has a couple of those these days and are running lucratively.

Being a roly-poly myself, I go through a lot of trouble each day, not to mention I have not tried shedding those “few” extra kilos. I have taken resolutions of going on a diet, exercising regularly, cutting down on my sweets, chocolates and outside food and adhered to the same for a record 7 days for the past 3 years and then fell on my face (read it as on my belly) Period..

Right from wearing clothes and buckling up my shoes to getting into an auto and getting out and walking down the corridors of my college I loathe...I repeat…I loathe being a teddy. Friend do pacify me at times saying “abe tu patla hai yaar, mote tho hum log hai” that does seem soothing for quantum of time and then I’m kicked and dragged backed to reality as soon as I enter the sanctum- sanctorum of my college- The Canteen! Bliss! :D.

One does face one-too-many problems being in dismantled human’s topography, but do spare a thought for ‘US’, we are the ones who are called up for duty when there is a shortage of benches in the class and a couple of those have to be transported from other classes. Therefore, if it were not for us, the so-called “patloos” would not be slogging off their asses on the benches and mocking the lecturers.  : P

We fight with ourselves every single day except for the part of the day when we savour the happiness of being in shorts, or the Bermuda’s”. We never give voices to our grievances, we just make our displeasure felt, how?  We eat. (Semi-colon parenthesis)

Period..

Being a fatso is not a crime after all, I see people gaping at me as if I have dropped out of an UFO a couple of minutes ago, why cannot these nomads mind their own business when we are savoring a yummy burger, they gape at us as if we bought it from their money!

And, Common girls we are humans too, we have heart too, we can love too, why is that you need a guy who has a body that of John Abraham? I realize and regret the inconvenience caused to you when you get on my bike but then, we can board an auto dear! :P

All I have to say is “a few” extra kilos is what that sets us apart from others, taken that out of the equation we bare the same resemblance to that of “you people”. So, show some god dam courtesy of giving us some “extra space” wherever possible and keep your eyes off our burgers! And, make sure you adhere to the quote in the pic below!!

To all the people who bear a few extra kilos…EAT HARD! That is the only thing we do with respect, innocence, and ingenuity.
